SATO / About |
Welcome to SATO version 4.5. This version, that has been under development for several years, contains a number of internal modifications as well as new features. The manual is currently being updated.
The SATO-calibrage application interface was redesigned with the collaboration of Isabelle Clerc’s Groupe Rédiger at Université Laval and based on recommendations by Andréanne Landry and programming by Awal Lamidi. This work will guide the gradual redesign of SATO's entire Web interface.
The software code will soon be open-source. In fact, SATO version 4.5 is an open-code version 5, but with older code used to convert corpora generated by earlier SATO versions. The software is freely accessible on a UQAM server, and can also be installed on a personal computer or other server running the Linux operating system.
The software was developed long ago by François Daoust. It was maintained within the former Centre d'analyse de texte [assistée] par ordinateur founded at the Université du Québec à Montréal by sociologist Jules Duchastel. The software is still supported by its developer, who is now a research associate at the UNESCO Chair in the Philosophical Foundations of Justice and Democratic Society founded by Josiane Boulad Ayoub at UQAM.
